Trip to Nashville
Well, here we are back from cold and foggy Nashville to Sunny, warm Diamondhead. It reached 78 degrees yesterday. Today it is suppose to get cooler, but Randy played golf on a nice day. Very strange weather.
Back to our trip to Nashville. We had a great time with Bobby , Jade and Maleah. We went to Ashland City to see Bobby's place and pick up Maleah. Wow, does he live out in the country. I thought we would never get there and yet he is only about 7 miles from the main road. He has the place all decorated with tree and lights. We took Maleah back to Nashville with us . Tuesday we went o the Opreyland Hotel to see the decorations. As usual, they were done up exceptionally. It is so immense there, that we still didn't see everything. Then we headed over to the mall to see some things and do some shopping.
Maleah showed me all around the mall until I could hardly walk anymore. We ended up at the Apple Barn and I bought a few things and then we headed back to the bookstore to get Randy as we had a big night ahead of us. We were going to see the Rockettes Christmas Show at Opreyland. First,we had dinner at a fish place, then went to the show. We had tickets way up high in the balcony, but Bobby's friend got them in for free and sat down next to the stage. After the intermission we all joined Bobby and Jade on the ground level.
The show was very entertaining and the Rocketts out performed themselves. I think we were all entertained, even Maleah.
Wednesday,we took Maleah home to Portland, Tennessee. I still don't know who lives out further, Bobby or Tracy. Wow, another long ride through the plateau where Portland is located. They are minutes from Kentucky, but Tracy has a nice home and it looks like a good area for Maleah to play. That night Bobby took us to dinner at the Macaroni Grill back in the mall. There we met Jades mom. We had a great dinner and a good visit with Vicki and her boyfriend. Thanks Bobby and Jade for a good time, but next time we visit, I think I will wait for it to warm up!

Aunt Dorothy is 90
Today is my Aunt Dorothy's 90th Birthday. She is a special lady in my life.I like to think of her as my second mother. When I was a little girl, I got to go visit her in Lafayette for a couple weeks every year. This all started when my mom needed someone to watch me.
I thought it was when I was hit by a car and I had to be watched. Aunt Dorothy thinks it was when Carole was born. Either way, I was the lucky one.
I got to play with the boys and their big French Poodle, Frenchie. Bob and Dick and I had pillow fights and tents in the back yard. Aunt Dorothy made me and Carole dresses and she took me to visit her neighbors. Those were good times and Aunt Dorothy is one terrific lady.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT DOROTHY
Lets see if I can find some special pictures of her.

Katie's New Bath Tub
Well, it has been 1 full day since I have been home. I miss Katie already. Her cute laugh and big smile and her little snuggles. We got along very well. She even let me feed her and rock her to sleep...I feel privileged. I think she will skip crawling and just go straight to walking, as she would not let me put her in a sitting position...just standing. By the time I left she was at least moving her feet a little...very little, but an improvement. It was so much fun to give her a bath in her new bathtub Kristin bought her. She loved it! She could sit up and splash and play with her toys and really get into it. She is just a little doll.
After five loads of wash and filling our empty cupboards full of food, I can finally sit down to my computer and write a little about my special Thanksgiving trip to California. I was busy everyday, seeing my friends, Eve and Barbara, my family and especially my joyous granddaughter, Katie. My sister took a week off and we were able to do a little shopping, lots of talking and then she prepared a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. It was wonderful as usual...everything.
Aunt Dorothy, cousin Bob and his wife Monica were at dinner and then I was fortunate enough to have them take me to dinner two times. It was nice to spend some time with them, as it seems every time I go out to Calif., they are too busy and we just can't get together. This time I didn't get to see my cousin Nancy and Brian, but for a short while. I will catch them next time.
Then on Friday, I went back to Carole's, at my suggestion(Carole probably hates me for this)for leftovers with Mike and Cindy. It was great seeing them too!
All in all, I had a wonderful and fulfilling trip to California once again. I will be back as soon as I can to see little Katie, so she doesn't forget she has a second Grandma.
Week after next we are due to go to Nashville to see my other granddaughter, Maleah and my son and his fiance. At least it won't be much colder there than here. I left warm California to come home to this freezing weather, and then go to more cold weather...at least I can wear my coat and sweater I bought!

Katie, here I come
Well Katie, I guess it has taken me long enough, but Grandma Sue is coming to see you......and Kristin and Shannon, Carole and Tom, Nancy and Brian and of course Aunt Dorothy. I just found out my friend Barbara and Doug Warren and my friend from Oregon, Eve, are also going to be in Pleasant Hill for Thanksgiving.
That sort of makes up for my missing Doris Clinch's Memorial, which I hear was very nice, last Saturday the 15th of November. I do wish Randy could come, but with his recent layoff, he is staying home in hopes of getting a job.
Guess I will report on my trip when I get back.
California or bust!

Gustav
Well Fay is gone and Gustav is on it's way. We are prepared to leave, but first we need to know where it is going.
Yesterday the 28th, little Evie Kate was born at 8:08AM, in Jackson, MS. She weighed 8lbs8oz.
Evie Kate would be Randy's great niece, as her mother Katie, is Randy's niece. She is a beautiful little chubby baby with a 2 year old sister, Bay, who will love her to death. Her Grandmother, Cheryl Warren is a happy Grandma of 3 now.
Good luck to all of you and we are so happy Evie Kate is finally here!

Fay
Good morning everyone. Fay has arrived. A little wind and so far some light rain, which is OK, as long as it does not go all day. We will see, but we do know 100% rain, so this will be an inside day. We are prepared if the power goes out. Lots of reading to catch up on and plenty canned food to eat!
All in all, Fay is not so bad. It could be worse!!!
